thats whats on the pci slot sticker as to what it is , its supposed to support a phenom x 4 9600 but no boot , any ideas DFI boys ? powers up , led lights but nothing happens to boot, tried different ram, gpu , thinking it could be a bios issue, i downloaded a zip rar file but dunno how to do it...D7SD707.ZIP, apparently its meant for the phenom x6 1035T to work, thought it might do the phenpm x 4 9600 too, dunno if it will work

If you tried a different CPU like Ales said and still no-go; What does the error code read?

The AM2 boards came after Oskar Wu left DFI. They're no where's near the same quality or performance level. Highly over rated.

tried a phenom x 3 8650 and a ahtlon 64 3200+, still the same deal, dont know why but somehow the board has died, unless its what it says, Possible Cause... Mixed-up BIOS data, but i dunno how to flash a bios when its a soldered to the board chip to try it but the issue is how are ya supposed to flash a bios if you cant get into it

88 is a dead board. There is no fix that I know of. At the time the board came out, 88 code was an instant RMA.
Oskar Wu was the designer/engineer for Epox, Abit, and then DFI. All of those companies best boards were designed, engineered and programmed by him. Soon after he left each of those companies, they closed up. Any board that he had his hands into was an upscale overclocking board.

ok right, thx scotty, a very smart man, but how do you know what boards he had his hands into, is there something special to look for or a mark of any kind he used to put on his boards

No, there is no identifiable mark visible. In his bios's, if you take them apart, there are identifiable marks.

Honestly, I've tried a lot of AM2 boards. I've had the best luck with the Gig 790X-UD4P.

I have got both the M3A and the UD4P they are are pretty even if anything the Gig seems more stable and reliable. Last time I got the M3A out it wouldnt post but its done that before.

i wished motherboard manufacturers were like vehicle workshops, we had a machine that we could plug into any vehicles wiring socket and it would diagnose everything that was wrong with it, sensors, voltages, fuel/air ratios, electrical health, ECU health, module health and actually tell you what was faulty, i got motherboard problems hangin out me arse and i dont know how to or where to start to try diagnose what the problems are

Honestly, I've tried a lot of AM2 boards. I've had the best luck with the Gig 790X-UD4P. I too have tryed quite a few AM2 boards from most if not all the big names. Jetway, EVGA, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, etc, etc but like Shane, Gigabyte n I just dont hit it off so well. Could there be any chance even the slightest that even with the code "88" that the DFI board could possibly be repaired? Depending of-course on whats really wrong with it.

Hey Ozz does your board have the little socket on it for the BIOS chip? See the little black box just under the SB HS ? I have a chip here that cam from www.ebay.com/itm/BIOS-CHIP-DFI-LANPARTY-DK-P35-T2RS-DK-P35-T2-Lan-Party-NF-3250Gb-/260799417104 if you're interested let me know I'll split the difference with ya. It didn't help me but might help you. I think mine was damaged in shipping. Someone shipped a CPU with it that got loose inside the box and bounced around the board halfway across the country. Never worked for me. Mine looks like this

no johan it doesnt, thx tho, just the bios chip itself, apparenlty according to the manual the 7 pin little socket next to the bios chip is something to do with bios flashing
