Nobody can get the new graphics cards or a Ryzen 5950x because of all the damn scalpers. I saw one guy on ebay selling them for $1237 (the cheapest) he's sold 17 already and has 4 more available. I want a 5950x so bad but I'll wait, those prices are ridiculous!!!

Folks buying these scalped cards are just feeding the frenzy. If they didn't the scalpers would have no real reason to do it but they know some are just dumb enough to pay them.
It's them controlling the supply as in owning what's available and if you don't pay them what they want no one gets any period - It's called monopolizing the supply.
I'm aware they will use rental trucks to visit stores and buy out the entite inventry of things like PS5's and Nintendo switches as examples.
In fact a Gamestop manager I know had one pop in and try to buy his entire inventory of switches, then tried to buy all the PS5's they had. He refused on both counts even after the buyer tried to bribe him to make the sale.
That's what they do and how they do it related to brick and mortar stores.
Online stuff we already know about, them using bots to swarm a site to buy up inventory within seconds. It's amounting to organized crime because these guys are indeed well organized to do it. It's also the same basic thing that happens overseas in places where supply is slim to none and expensive which is the same thing they are trying to setup here.
Vendors "Say" they are trying to thwart it but they really don't care - Making the sale is the objective, they don't care what goes afterwards and frankly it's really not their problem. What's even worse is technically it's not illegal, the stuff is paid for and that's what makes it legit so no laws are broken.
If it's going to be stopped laws will have to be implemented but that in itself goes against the free enterprise system we have so it's a catch 22 situation as is. The one way I can see it is on a basis of anti-monopolistic legislation concerning controlling the supply of things, that's probrably the angle it would have to be done under if at all.

Probably I was lucky but there is a HUGE retailer and e-tailer in Greece that has a permanent filter on those much wanted parts. TWO PER ACCOUNT. So I purchased yesterday, at extremely reasonable prices a Ryzen 7 5800x and a Ryzen 9 5950x.
BTW, for anyone intetested, Asus released yesterday their first BETA bios for crosshair VII hero for full 5000 series cpu support.

All I know if the 30 series reflect what I'm seeing from the price hike for the 20 series on the egg they aren't selling me one.

I checked that and if you choose "Sold by Newegg only" you'll see the prices drop..... And most of the stock being sold out too. It's all the shady side vendors they have that's jacking prices up and in a way is also scalping - Just not to the extreme the fleabay scalpers are doing but again, scalping is scalping.

a town over from me a COmputer Stores Assistant manager was caught selling scalped products. He was stupid to use his own ebay/craiglist account with matched his linked in profile account name. a redditer found it and put it all together. I don't know what ultimately happened. But here it's to the point where shit isn't even making it to shelves.. employee's are just fucking everyone. Vin
