Those Lake Effect Storms are some powerful muthas. Once that sucker starts churning you just have to wait until it's over. I remember on some years in the past where the city ran out of places to put the snow and they brought in melters. They parked them right over uncovered man holes and just melted the snow and drained it off into the sewer system while dump trucks were taking whatever else they had to the lake front and to the Chicago River and just dumping it in there. When it gets really cold out now I just stay inside for the most part. My joints just can't handle it anymore. I do shovel when I have to but just a little at a time. I have a snow blower for those bad days. It's been mild here so we're not expecting anything yet. Maybe a little dusting of snow tonight if that but yeah, mild for this time of year. And now with the pandemic I have no intentions on even leaving the house so why even shovel. I will clean the front of the house and front stair way for deliveries.
