That's cool, I haven't seen one melt yet lol. I have seen them pop, its neat, except its your board so it sucks. I lost a header on 3 out of my last 5 boards because I am an idiot.
Melted.. that is impressive lol.

it's brass that is nickle plated. I have it mounted on the outlet of my CPU block.
My outgoing tube is full of a growth, looks like a thick white material on the side walls. I wonder if this unit is the cause. I wonder is the plating has broken down and now I have a dissimilar metal issue and it's attaching that temp sensor...
This freaking blows...
Coolant is distilled water with a 30% mix of glycol with a yellow dye. it's the exact same mix I use on my 1700x rig and I have not had any issues with it (it's a soft tube loop)

ya it does, here is a pic
Inlet is perfect (actually every other tube is)... almost undeniable that the sensor is the problem...
I have another... was going to use two on this built. for an inlet and outlet... but now I'm going to come up with an alternative.. I won't trust the other one I had going in there...

Alright... I have my bits.. EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra is what my computer store could offer as the Asus Strix wasn't expected to arrive this year to I took it. EK GPU WB is mounted on the GPU and ready to go.
I had initially thought I'd just need to modify 2 tubes for the GPU, but I decided that I have enough tubing that I would re-do some of it to be shorter, cleaner and also easier to drain. all the rad connectors are on the same side now I won't have to flip the case around the get all the air out and also drain it.
I'll post new photos later.

Here are the pics of corrosion I had because of the temperature probe.
Shit was nasty.
part of the reason I didn't want to re-use any of the tubing. I cleaned them out. but I just felt a little uneasy about it.

Here is the new tubing setup
order is the following
- Pump - GPU WB - CPU WB - First Temp Probe
- 1st 360mm Rad (Thin) - 2nd 360mm Rad (Thin) - Flow Meter
- 3rd 360mm Rad (Fat Boy)
- Second Temp Probe
- Res
I'll be able to tell the Delta and know what the cooling is actually doing. Kind of excited to see what that does.
I have a fan for the top right, took it out to make it easier to run the lines and verify the leak testing.
This one was a tricky MF

So no leaks after 14+ hours. I'm happy about that. I've flushed near 9 liters of water through the loop. Blew it out last time to get as much as I could out.
Math says I need near 1.3L, I was able to pull out just over 1L. letting it run an hour and then will power it up to make sure there are no issues before I put the pre-mix EK Cryo Fluid I got...
I also got the EK Dye kit. I normally go with Yellow. but I've been doing yellow for a few builds now. So I'm thinking of changing it up.
my Girls suggested Blue. I think I might like that.

I'm going to take the GPU block apart tomorrow and inspect it. I'm not getting the temps I was expecting.
CPU is good. While gaming, adding the GPU only added about 3-4 degrees... better than I was expecting...
the GPU loaded is running at about 70 degrees. pretty solid line.. Even running any 3DMark Time Spy or Port Royal on Stress Test I end up here as well...
now I did use the EK TIM that came withthe block. I've never ever used anything but AS5 and I hope that is the issue. I also hope that the blue pads that came with this EK kit are decent and don't disinigrate when I pull this apart.
Also for coolant, this is just Distilled water. I didn't put in any Cryo Fluid.. didn't want to waste a bottle with some testing ($20/bottle CAD)
Temps drop like a MF when I stop gaming though
Vin
EDIT: and I get a delta of 1.8-2.5 degrees C from the inlet of the first Rad and the outlet of the second rad... that's more than I was expecting so I'm quite happy with that.

Turns out it was a bad mount. only the center of the die was making contact. re-mounted and I use AS5 this time. Now the GPU tops out at 50 degrees. testing F@H now. 8 Threads and GPU. CPU is at 68/69 Degrees and the GPU is at 42 Degrees. Not bad if I say so...
Oh, and the CPU is clocked at 4700mhz @ 1.25v, GPU at its Stock Clocks.

People knock AS5 pretty hard, but its still pretty decent imo.. She is running sweet buddy! Ya, I like the stuff. For day to day use it's tops imo. Not liquid, stays pasty when hot, non-conductive and makes a great bond. I'll put a dab on a CPU/GPU, run my heat gun over it to ease it up and then spread it... Also it's been around forever... and in all the charts that get made up every year, it's always in the middle of the pack until the past year..
There are better out there.. but I also have a big tube of it so that definitely helps the decision making.. lol
Once that tube is out I'll do my over analytical thing and scour the charts and get a big tube of the next decent thing.

for the Bad Mount, here is a pic of what it looked like on the block
Now while Folding I'm capped to 42 degrees and running 3DMark Port Royal I top out at 51-52 Degrees.. right where I thought it should be
Here are some screenshots..
F@H hasn't sync'd my pass key yet on this PC (low score). But this GPU was averaging 4-6mil ppd depending on the WU... I did a few subs to our DB last week.

So with the Temps probes before the 1st Rad and outlet of the last rad I can see that I dissipate 2 degree average. I also have the Pump and Fans run based on Water temp... So the inlet temp of the rad, I use that temp to speed up the fans. and the water temp going in the Res causes the pump to increase it's speed... So you only run up when you need it. when using this for day to day. it's 100% silent. Other than the build in LED's, you can't tell it's running...
Turns out that the Koolance Flow Meter controller is compatible with the Asus Flow plug. I'm happy to see that. Now I know the reading isn't correct, I and don't care that it's not "calibrated" but I know at max speed it shows 90l/m and when at the slow rate it's at 30l/m.. so with that I know if I start getting some clogging in the lines or blocks...
I freaking love it...
I should ignore costs, but I'm not like that...
Here it is... Glad I could do this once. I'll never build one like this again and will likely stick with Air cooling or buy a flex loop kit from EK for $500... II don't like the setups of AIO's. I can't stand those things...

Man, that PPD on your GPU is the same as my CPU and GPU combined lol.. so savage..
I do not mind the mess. There is a possibility that if I was left un attended with your machine, that I could be caught touching it inappropriately..
