Vin, From extended personal experience. The fastest combination for X570 Crosshair VIII with any Ryzen cpu is 3800 / 14-14-14-28-1T. This is the max if you wish to use FCLK 1900 = MCLK 1900 = UCLK 1900 ( that is the fastest combination of Northbridge running at 1900mhz and FCLK at 1900. An inch higher ( mem speed at 3801 and the divider drops to 1/4 ). Meaning That at 4400 ram northbridge will run at 1100. The optimal memory for X570 is G.Skill Neo 3800 cl14, which with a bit of pumping on the voltage ( 1.65V ) runs 3800 / 12-12-12-28-1T tight for benching. Having tried numerous combinations ( up to 4600 / 14-13 ), the one suggested is the fastest. George

Thanks George. From what I'm reading the the expected optimal mem for 5000 ryzen is a touch higher than what it was for 3xxx CPU's. The overall price difference from 3800 to 4400 mem was not a big one. So I'm future proofing in case the assumptions out there are true.
If they are not, then I'm expecting I'll be able to tune the timing down with the slower speed to get this screaming.
When I have the rig put together I'll start a specific tuning thread to get this thing screaming...
Side note: semi-local shop here (45min drive) has two EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING in stock.. $2399... tempting to go get one... it's $200 over the budget I was thinking if I went 3090.. There is a shop about 1.25hrs away that has an Asus TUF 3080 in stock for $999... I told myself I wouldn't rush.. but with stock shortages everywhere... it's tempting to go take a drive...

I can't decide on the 5800x and 5900x... 3rd party reviews are out... both equal in game.. I am doing less productivity on my main rig as I have a company laptop for work... so the 5800x make more sense... Could be a mild argument to go 5600x... but I have 8 cores now.. I'm going with at least the 5800x... Local stock was odd... I called the few stores here last night. each store had 1-2 5900x, and no more than 4 5800x.. no more than 6 5600x... all stores were not selling online. they all opened at 10am, first come 1st served with no holds, totally makes sense... it's 11am, checked stock.. and all gone from all stores... I work for a living, Couldn't be there to wait in line... so I'll have to wait for the next wave... the stores I called felt my plight.. did tell me that AMD were usually better then nVidia for re-stock and are expecting things to flow in within 2 seeks...
for the better. I can't complete the build anyway.. Memory will be here before Nov 10th.. but my storage that I was planing is not available yet... Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus Gen4 NVME...

I'm learning with Hard tubing small steps are big ones.. I initially had not thought out my drain. but once I spent time trying this and that I ordered a few more fittings and now I have a proper Drain at the lowest part of my loop...
It's on a few swiveling 90's, so I can tuck it away and zip it out when I need too...
I'm pretty happy with that.. I'm going to start bending some tubing today. I can get a few installed that won't change or get in the way once I get the CPU/MB. So I'm excited and nervous about that. I'll post up once I get that done.

Did my first ever bends.. I'm using 12mmID x 16mmOD PETG. I did one sacrificial 90 that turned out fine and these I did these two tubes.
also I changed my drain setup. I think it looks cleaner this way, what do you think?
The double offset from one rad to another I had initially bent the wrong way but was then able to re-heat, and bend the other direction. I have a mandrel kit so I was able to keep the offset clean. looking from the front the last offset could be a few millimeters ahead.. so I might re-adjust that tomorrow...
I have cut/ripped one inner O-ring on a 90. I have replacement o-rings, but they are 0.2mm smaller diameter and doesn't bite on the tube as well. We'll see what that does.
I've see a lot of builders us this tool so I'm looking forward to using it. it'll be really handy when I just have to shave 1-2mm off the end of the tube.. right now that part is a PITA....
Ah, and my memory showed up yesterday. So I need to pop it in my Folding rig to test it out. hope it just posts (not at rated speed for that PC, it won't get there.. but just work without issue)
As I keep working on this, I'll keep posting updates..
Thanks for the encouragement guys.

We got Post.... I jugged up a Hyper 212 that I had. Other than my new WC block I don't have an AM4 cooler.. and wow this thing is toasty.. in the bios I averaged 45 degrees. But I was easily able to select my Ram settings in DOCP and boot and it fired right in the Bios. I know it doesn't mean much right now, but at least it made it in there and didn't boot-loop.
I didn't want to leave the cooler on too long, I didn't have a backplate on there.. but this got the job done..
I've also decided that I won't be going for the 3090. The 3090 is over double the price of a 3080 but not double the performance. So if I put aside $1500 I can get a new GPU in 2-3 years and make out better than getting the 3090 and waiting 5 years to upgrade. So now I know what GPU I'm getting. Now I just need to find one that I can get a mating GPU WB for it. Vin

She's in the case... Once I get my Hard Tubing Bit and the loop pressure tester I'll work on completing the tubing.
I'm also really happy about how the Water Temp probe ended up on the CPU WB. Figure it's the best spot for it. If the pump dies that T-Sensor will tell me the CPU temps from the water heating up. I'm also going to get a flow meter as this MB has a 3pin plug dedicated for flow...
Maybe by this weekend if I get my bits on time... I'll have water flowing.

given latest reports, aren't you going radeon for the video card ? No, I have a G-Sync monitor and my monitor is 1 generation too old to update the FW to enable adaptive sync (Asus PG278QR). Radeon drives are bloated poop.. I can't stand the fact that you can't just install drivers...
I have been shopping for a monitor, but I'd like to go 32"@4k and would like to have 100-120hz refresh, but all the monitors I can get in that size/rez are 60hz. Price is really reasonable at between $350-500, but as soon as you go 100+ Hz they price jumps to $1500-2500...
If I can find a descent monitor then maybe an AMD could be in the works.. but I don't think it is likely.

God bored last night. was only going to do a few bends, ended up finishing the tube runs.
the white cardboard signifies the sizing of a FE 3090 as I wanted to see the "what-if" factor of GPU sizing..
I'm not completely happy with the run feeding and leaving the CPU block. But as a first hard tubing build ever I'm happy that it doesn't look like total shit. I have another 3m of tubing and all of these are 1st bend attempts. So I'll be giving them another go this weekend or at my next boredom episode.

Another item I wanted to make sure was to not obstruct access to ports, plugs, memory.. I'm happy on how that turned out.
I'm happy with that spacing

I decided that I'm going to wait to re-do those few tubes until I have my GPU and GPU block. No point in wasting tubing. So tonight I filled and flushed the loop a few times. I was surprised of the particles in the water after I I had gone through near 4 liters of distilled water. It looks like my loop takes near 1.3liters of water with my res. Tomorrow I'm going to grab a few SSD's make up a raid and load up an OS and start with some testing. I'm still waiting for the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus to be released. Heard it could possibly be before xmas. So here is a pic with water... There was not one leak.. I was amazed. I really didn't expect that especially being my 1st kick at hard tubing. Vin

Here she is assembled. reading about the 3080Ti and now that has me wondering.. I was saddened when I heard there wasn't going to be a 20GB 3080... so I'm quite happy to hear about the Ti.. Si i might just wait for that... I wasn't expecting to have a GPU until xmas... so I don't mind waiting a touch to hear what will happen there... On to some pics...
With the PSU in Eco mode this thing is completely silent... when the PSU is set to normal the PSU fan hum is all that is heard...
For settings. my D5 Pump and all fans are PWM. So I have all the fans and pump set to scale their speeds based on both the CPU temp or water temp.
I'm trying to find a 3pin Water Flow Meter.. the only one I can find is apparently a very restrictive unit. the others (and the one I'm using in the other build) are only 2 pin and the plug is different.
for the W_Flow plug, it's a white plug that looks like a 3 pin fan header... so I wonder is the two outer pins are 12v/0v and the middle is signal... but Asus doesn't have the pinout published... buggers...
So the updates on this will slow down in this thread until I get my M.2 SSD's and my GPU/WB.. yep, thinking two 1TB in Raid0... right now I'm running on two 2.5" 120GB PNY SSD's in Raid0 to test and it's small to backup.. so if I corrupt the OS it'll be easy to recover.

Thanks Eddie... Shrimp... ya, still there... for now.. lol... Water cooling parts expected on Friday, odd to think that list has 49 individual parts and it's only near complete to make functional... I am looking for recommendations on high static pressure fans. If you guys have any, I'm all ears. I've been hearing and reading good things about these Arctic P12 PWM fans... www.amazon.ca/dp/B07GB5JRTZ/?coliid=IBFO2MUCTK9V9&colid=3TVEKX9CWZLFH&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1 Thoughts? Vin I used these in my water cooling rigs. And have them in my HTPC gamer because it's in a cabinet, I need big CFM to eject the heat. Which these do very nicely. Cons - Loud. Pros - Moves lots of CFMs Delta AFC1212DE-PWM
Mild thread revival...

I like my Ultra Kaze 3000RPM 120MM fans. But I am a clutz and also have to put fan guards on them. Like Jay said, they Will take your fingers off. My problem in my case is that they have so much air flow to them that they blow the top off of my Cooler Master H500P. Those Delta fans are monsters. I love them too.

I love thick fans too, I try to promote them when I can but no one cares. Noctua or Arctic or bust.. Mine are not crazy like yours, but still a tick over 100cfm so not terrible either I run mine at 7v so its like a cooler master sickle flow sound wise.. maybe..

I gave the wrong part number before. Mine are actually AFC1212SHE 1.6a rated. Good video though. Not sure about where he got the fan header amp listing from. I've never had a problem. But then you don't have to run them any where near 100% to achieve massive air push. I have one installed for an intake. That's all that's needed XD

I've got a little 92x35 DC Koala III 12v .34a 4w that I swear to god puts out more than my TY-143. It revs to 4000RPM and it will fuck you up lol. I should have a guard on it.. but my kids and I know better.. but there is still the occasional time it clips a knuckle or something..

Same with my 120mm/240 CFM Delta fan I have on the cooling tower - Moves a crapton of air and can hover in place too. Believe me, you won't hook this up to a fan header - It WILL melt the crap out of it but quick!

Believe me, you won't hook this up to a fan header - It WILL melt the crap out of it but quick! You think? most fan headers are good for 2 amps now. on the Crosshair board with the H-Amp and Water pump headers, they can I believe put out 3-5 amps...

Back in the day the Vantec Tornado was pretty popular. When I saw Luke (sparkey247) had a couple, I've been hooked on high CFM fans. I think those where 1a fans but don't quote me.
In short, don't think I've ever broken or melted any Fan headers on any build OC bench or daily. At least not yet..... haha. I said something, now it's gonna happen XD
