So I am building the 3rd iteration of this PC. This is a PC that should last me 5 yrs+. So because of that I'm going mostly all out. I don't have a budget, but I do want to keep things in perspective.
This ties in to the Hard Tubing thread. I want this build to be hard-tubed. I've always like the look. and Yes I like to tinker... but I'll likely be keeping my Zen1 1700x build and use that to tinker...
Things I have purchased so far are: - CASE = LianLi O11 Dynamic XL Black - PSU = EVGA 1200W Platinum
Here is my current parts/price list...
for the CPU I think I'll be going with the Zen 3 5800x, but could go with the 5900x... still on the fence... I also don't know if I'll be going with an RTX 3080 or 3090... I'm in no rush as once the PC is build I can use a spare 1080Ti that I have until the GPU is decided...
I have not decided on the Fans.. this I've been reading a lot about and would like some suggestions. but I also don't want to spend $30-50/fan either... this build will need 10 of them...
Cooling, I'm going with three 360mm Rads, bottom Rad will be 45mm thick and the other two will be 30mm thick... Here is the cooling plan right now:
But I am up to hearing other ideas. I did tinker with the notion of having the bottom and top pull air in and have the rear and side pull air our. This way I maximize cold air to the rads...
Here are some ideas I have for tubing runs I have as well...
I know I won't get the GPU right away, so I've setup the idea of having the whole system together and only having to swap 2 tubes when I add the GPU.
Idea's are welcome. let me know what you guys think.

So x2 nuts are gone and x1 left Thickness of rad not matter, surface area is king

Thickness of rad not matter, surface area is king I've read that is thicker helps with fan speed. The bottom of the case will hold a 140x280mm rad, but I've decided to keep them all the same size.
I wonder how the baffling is made on the inside and how many times the fluid will pass... on a normal rad they flow in a U and you know the fluid passed 2 air exchanges... but it's not clear on these if that is the case..

Not cross flow. The longer water stays in radiator then it can cool more.
You find compromise in flow rate as his testing

I get that, but it depends on how the cross-flow rad is made. if it's made with baffles and zig-zag's though the rad it's the same or better than a traditional rad.

Water cooling parts purchased, everything but the GPU waterblock and the mandrel and tools... $1500 CAD with shipping.. Performance PC was $150 cheaper. But they didn't have the main components I wanted (now not in stock), shipping international was a big warning on their site... so I went local. I should get everything mid next week is the hope/expectation.
After Nov 5th I'll get the CPU, MB and RAM and then the build log would start...
Here is the list.

Thanks Eddie... Shrimp... ya, still there... for now.. lol... Water cooling parts expected on Friday, odd to think that list has 49 individual parts and it's only near complete to make functional... I am looking for recommendations on high static pressure fans. If you guys have any, I'm all ears. I've been hearing and reading good things about these Arctic P12 PWM fans... www.amazon.ca/dp/B07GB5JRTZ/?coliid=IBFO2MUCTK9V9&colid=3TVEKX9CWZLFH&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1 Thoughts? Vin

Vin I used these in my water cooling rigs. And have them in my HTPC gamer because it's in a cabinet, I need big CFM to eject the heat. Which these do very nicely. Cons - Loud. Pros - Moves lots of CFMs Delta AFC1212DE-PWM

Yeah just throwing out what I like to use. Generally, I dont mind noise from fans and most of the time dont need to really run them at high rpm because the move 75cfm at only 50%. And very tolerable at that speed.
But there are a lot of fans out there. I'm sure it wont make a huge difference either way Vin.

I've gone through the list of "High Static Pressure" fans that are 120mmx120mmx25mm (Jon I put the 38mm in there to see where the other fared) and compiled the following list. Right now the Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700rpm is looking like the leader from this list...
Here is the list sorted by m3/h
Here is the same list but the cost of the fan broken down by CFM.
One thing I found funny in doing this exercise was some fans listed and advertised as High Static Pressure but their m3/h values were laughable...
I'm going to keep working on this, this was from my searching. I found different "Best fans for Radiators" reviews and saw a wide range of recommendations. So I'll see about adding the top 3's from those lists this to see where this levels off.

I an updated table, added from 3 different review sites (PCMag, IGN and Gamers Thought)
The Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700rpm is still looking the the way to go.
I'd like to get the fans ordered on the weekend at the latest (if not sooner). If there are any other fans or a specification that I have overlooked. let me know

and I can totally see why yuo swear by that Delta Fan.. airflow is a beast on that thing.

Sorry for the late reply. Been a busy day. I still have my first delta. It came from some old OEM case, Dell, Gateway or something of the like. First post I heard this god awful screaming. Thought WTF is that? It happened to be a 92mm Delta. Was in shock the amount of air flow that thing pushed. At OCN, I found a guy a few years back made custom whip length. Think he was asking only 12 bucks a fan If I remember right, I stocked up on them. Probably have at least 2-4 new ones left unused. I remember Luke (Sparkey247) ripped an entire finger nail off with a tornado fan lol. Holy fuck man! You lost that fight...lol. Oh man good times. That was probably like 08' maybe. He showed me, I had to see it. XD Tornado 92mm -

Noctua Redux fans ordered (grabbed 14.. 4 spares), Amazon is awesome and I'll get them tomorrow.. how the hell they do that is beyond me. nobody else locally had these fans in stock at the QTY that I was looking for, so this was the best option. $18ea. I'm a happy camper...
Here is where I'm at right now... I think my next build (in 5-8 years) will be back to flex tubing... lol

I don't have the patience for it. But I do love it. Looks awesome. Speaking of fan mauling. I once had a crazy Ultra Kaze 120MM fan come at me at full speed. It started taking in a loose thread from my t-shirt and started climbing up my chest and started chewing up a nipple. It was during an overclocking run many years ago.

When it's decent, I like Amazon. Sadly, it isn't quite to the same level up here yet, but it's slowly getting there.
I get to occasionally see the front of the local warehouse...

Assembly has started, all 10 fans tested and work. all fans, rads, res/pump and most fittings installed. I have 2 fitting on each side of the bottom rad so I'm trying to figure out how to have my drain located under it. it's a tight fit but the 25mm of fan space could make it possible...
Have a look at a few pics. I have all the fans pushing...
The fitting with a cable coming out of it is an inline water temp sensor. it'll plug right in the Mobo, it has 1 T sensor inputs (10K type) So I'll be able to monitor water temp in the OS
I can see the value of a distro plate now... but I'm going to avoid it as I don't want to spend $300 and lose a rad.
Now I also need to get a fan controller.. for some reason I thought this case had one. but it doesn't and I need something to properly control all 10 fans. Thinking a PWM splitter of some sort.

No idea which fan controller would be best. Mine was a thermal take. Back in the day the thermal take fans came with a little contoller, but just for the one fan. I never split more than 2 fans on a controller though. Never bothered to measure the current capability of the rheostats.

I'm thinking of three of these.. www.dazmode.com/shop/computer-hardware/fan-controllers/4pin-pwm-to-4x-4pin-fan-splitter/One for each rad. and then I'll be at 50% usage of my allotted output per fan connector on the MB. This is my thinking... I can't go with a traditional fan controller as I don't have a 5.25" bay and I want to avoid going with a 3rd party controller that would require added software and a windows app.. This way I set the curves/control in the Bios and be done with it. Does it make sense? Vin

PWM Splitter ordered.. thing doesn't come with a female to female cable.. happy I read reviews to find that out.. bought some glycol and mandrel bending and some 90 degree standard fittings for my drain that I'm planing. Adds up quick. another $150 with shipping...
I'm now set on the Asus CrossHair VIII Hero... Asus updated their site and the updated bios's are released for Zen3.. and it looks like I can use Flashback on the MB without a CPU or RAM installed (that's neat)... I've been holding off on getting the MB as I have 14 days to return the MB to the store if the MB is DOA. I don't want to get the MB without the CPU... I do not want to have to deal with Asus RMA...

I pulled the trigger on the Ram. Seems you can't get more than 32GB at 3600Mhz from the QVL from the board I am looking at (Asus C8H). So I went faster than the 4000mhz I was looking at and bought a 16GB kit at 4400Mhz. Here is a link: www.newegg.ca/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232758it was $30 more than I have budgeted. I had also not accounted for shipping. Which was another $20. Same memory local was $399.. So I still saved $50... So all that is left is the CPU, MB, GPU and Storage... Vin
