They are saying there is a vaccination on the way. Apparently the U.K. has started giving them. Let's see how this goes. I'm working with a few companies out there. I'll be asking them about it and see how it goes for them

They are saying there is a vaccination on the way. Apparently the U.K. has started giving them. Let's see how this goes. It's already here in Chicago. First responders will get shots first. Heard reports the vaccine can make you just as sick as the virus its self, like many vaccines do. Fun get cure and get symptoms. Fever in a needle anyone?

ya.. out here they say people in healthcare homes and attendees are first, then medical/first responders, then trickle down to the rest...
the side effects reported by our local news isn't a treat as well.. worst one and I don't understand how, was being susceptible to HIV.. how TF can that happen? Like get the vaccine and get HIV? err... no thanks. I'll keep wearing a mask the one time a month I leave my house

F that. Yeah, I'll keep my mask on thank you very much. Ya, it may be wrong. it's just one of the many that my local news reported. I don't now how true that really is. We'll have to wait for the full white papers to be released and then we'll be able to make a true decision.

Just hoping for a better 2021 for everyone. It's been a bad bad year. More bad news than not. I hear you there - numerous family members have died this year. Thankfully none related to the SARS-CoV2 coronavirus (that causes COVID-19)... One was a collapsed lung that wouldn't reseat, and the other was spontaneous bad mojo jojo while landing a plane (TSB is still investigating). Feel sorry for my aunt though, losing her father than her husband, just 51 days apart.

Vaccinations have begun in the UK. Many countries now rushing to get this going now. Obviously the senior people, health care staff and all who work in high exposure&risk will have this 1st.
It will take a few more months before majority of people are "covered" by vaccine for this.

US made a mistake according to our canadian news and didn't take Pfisers offer in the summer. so they may have a delay until the summer of 2021 before they get the vaccine.
in Canada, we are getting first delivery next week (3 months earlier than predicted a month ago, 6 months earlier than predicted 2 months ago) same as you here, elderly living in longterm care are first, then the workers in those longterm care. then 1st responders then the remainder.
I don't anticipate being able to get it until well beyond the summer. if at all this year... depends on how the real world testing goes.

I'm kind of glad that I technically fall into the first or second waves for the vaccine, but at the same time, I know priority isn't quite as high due to the changes.
All I know is I want EI to hurry up and at least give me some info on what's going on.
Definitely happy though that the community was able to get together and do some seriously epic science in such a short period of time though!

Same for the vaccine here.. I think I fall in the lowest rank in which I get it. as for the speed. I've been reading a lot about how people are actually upset that it came so fast.
now I am questioning the allergy implications that have happened with the Pfizer vaccine and the elderly in the UK. and the news here were talking about how a surprise these effect were... I have a hard time buying the "surprise", considering the test group was 60,000 people... were they all the control group? lol. it just mustn't had been communicated well enough.

Whoo, that's one fewer stressful things to deal with. Got the letter about an hour ago: claim processed, and approved.

The vaccination pace is speeding up here in the EU, but these new Covi alteration seem making things more complicated, again. Over here we are trying to keep all extra or unnecessary activity in possibly crowded or busy areas to a minimum to avoid any spread of this. For many of us, this is course not very feasible, got a job to do.

Employer informed us that we will continue WFH until end of 2021, while in some countries gradually returning to office, situation allowing. City healthcare has now opened for vaccinations for people in my age group, made a booking for next week. Booster vaccine in July.

I'm literally two years too young to get on any of the lists, but I've been tempted to try and get on the cancellation list, since right now our proinvce is seeing upwards of a third of appointments being no shows, which outright baffles me... Mainly because many of us WANT the vaccine but are being told to be patient, yet they won't let us walk in, or get put on a list if they have any left over at the end of the day...
There's been some rumours from what I've heard with work that they might start offering to let people work from home permanently... Something about higher productivity for certain people, doubly so with how many of them have had extra money to do other things.
Meanwhile I'm just waiting for my phone to ring, and hopefully get a callback to work. Such would be greatly appreciated, doubly so with me looking at things and knowing I'll have to start applying around within two months...
I like my job. I like my customers. I finally found a position where I'm mostly happy about things, I'd rather not give it up.

NYS is open for anybody over 16 years old now. You can get appts. in less than a week. Cost is free. I have my first shot already. Pfizer. EDIT- First shot is just the government tracker anyway. Second shot is the vaccine.

Got my second shot today. Side effects? My wife had a head ache all day at worst. One of the guys in a different department at work got slammed hard though. Mild fever for a day after the second shot. Most people nothing really terrible. Just waiting to hear more results from people. Nothing like getting an active virus to train your body. The old timer at work took a flu shot a couple of years ago and it took him out for a week. LOL. Told him not too. His new wife talked him into it. Hadn't had one for years and years and BAM, down for the count. I also do not get flu shots. I haven't been sick for a few years now. (before covid precautionary measures included.)

I'm the same way, I get a cold maybe once or twice a year. Bad food will make me sick pretty quick so I am choosey with leftovers..
I want the vaccine but I fear it too. I have COPD and I really don't want to get taken out by COVID or its vaccine.

My favourite painting streamer got taken out hard the day after, was groggy as all hell the second day (but let us talk him into streaming, he was happy about that, but stiff as all hell), and the stiffness stuck around for three more days.

Received the 1st dose Pfizer covid vaccine this morning. For many the interval for 2nd dose atm seem be 11-12 weeks,
point being that as many as possible will get the 1st dose asap, sufficiency counted. Situation lives so changes can happen. Missus is in the next younger age group, in our city have not opened yet, but expect it to happen soon hopefully. Another 2-3 weeks before a possible immunity effect kicks in of a taken vaccine.
