Street Outlaws (Oak) is playing non stop on Discovery Velocity until new years. new episodes from 6am-6pm est and then they re-run from 6pm-6am est. it's fun to watch. they are at season 8 today. I thin there are what, 15 seasons? looks like you can watch for free on Discovery Go: go.discovery.com/tv-shows/street-outlawscrap, looks like a bunch of shows are on GO Vin

Slightly off-topic but sort-of on topic.... Tesla's are devices of the devil... 35 miles left and the bugger stopped

I like the Audi much, much better than the Tesla that's for sure. I'm a battery killer though. I would kill the range on the car, and I'd be coming home on a flatbed. LOL

Most I ever travel normally is under 100 miles. I'd be fine. 100k is out of my range though.

Not to mention the heat, between all that I'm suprised he even tried it. Even at this time of year it had to be getting HOT in there and that's regardless of the obvious ventilation he had going.

Kinda reminds me of my 327 Chevette. I could reach under the dash through the firewall and adjust the timing from the drivers seat.
Mine wasn't even as nice as this one. lol

A friend of mine had a '72 Chevy Vega with 350/4 speed transplant. Real nice-looking car. A real sleeper. He let me drive it. I nearly shit myself when that sucker came out of 2nd gear. It would just keep burning the tires nonstop thru the gears. Fast little car. I took her up to 145MPH and had to back it off. It felt like it was going to go airborne. I have a feeling that it would have.

One of these days, I'll be out at my old mans house and see if I can grab some pictures and take pictures of those pictures and upload them here. He also had some nice cars, his first was a corvette. Later a 442. Probably a few inbetween!

Tracked Jeeps are so cool. These guys are awesome to help these folks. I don't even want to think about what would happen to these folks if it weren't for those wonderful guys in that tracked Jeep. I would love to have something like that when it snows a lot here.
Edit: I can't begin to tell ya how many times I have tried to explain to folks how 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is not always better. If you're not properly set up for it it can just make it so much worse. Better two wheels spinning than 4 four. If the vehicle is too low to the ground it ain't gonna do you any good how many wheels you have turning cause your vehicle will be stuck by the frame to the ice and snow. I have pulled so many all-wheel drive Subaru's out of deep snow it ain't funny. Jeeps are usually the best for it but not with the stock all season stock tires. You gotta have the height and the traction. Hell most times you don't even need the 4 wheel drive. Not here anyways.

You gotta have the height and the traction. Hell most times you don't even need the 4 wheel drive. Not here anyways. This is something I've always known even though I don't and have never lived in snow country. It's not unlike being in a muddy/swampy area in terms of height and traction, in both cases (Snow and mud) the frame can bottom out or the wheels get into a hole the tires just can't climb out of. The deeper the hole dug, the harder it is for a tire to climb out if it can at all. Spin them enough and you'll have no traction PLUS the vehicle sitting dead on the frame making it difficult to get you out and doing damage in the process of getting you out too. When I worked at the quarry driving Tonka trucks years ago, the boss said something I've never forgotten because it makes sense. If you get stuck and you know it, DON'T keep trying to get out. If you're stuck, you're stuck and only digging yourself deeper making it harder to get you out. Don't worry guys - My little truck doesn't go offroading and the 4-wheel drive part of it has been disabled on purpose too. Got tired of paying for something I shoudn't have had to over and over again due to a factory engineering F-up so just removed the axles from the front, all else is there as it should be. Speaking of 4X4 the only time I ever "Tried it" was right after I bought it in Jan 97, went on the back 40 of a guy I used to work for and put it through it's paces in the woods. Nice and muddy/slick at the time with some good mud holes to play in and got it DIRTY as you'd expect, took about a week to get all the mud off and out of it but after that, never again. Did quite well but at the same time, with conditions in the vid a tracked vehicle makes alot more sense than tires for several reasons and that was filmed in Oregon of course. I knew they had snow there sometimes, just not that much of it. Guess I"ll stay here with little to no snow to worry about and I hate the cold anyway - Hurts too much as is for me.

Yup and just as he said in the video traction control can be helpful on ice(but you really don't need it if you know how to drive)but it is absolutely worthless in the snow. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another useless and stupid thing to have on a car. Jeez they load up today's cars with so much useless crap. Anything to inflate the price of the car.

High center a tracked machine and you're just as stuck as anything else.
