zila1: You're right Jon. I sat her down on my 3950X build and she can't tell the difference. On her new 2700X build she says the desktop is super fast. So another happy camper. It feels good to do something nice for my little sister. Happier than a pig in shit. Mar 20, 2024 13:18:15 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: Hell yeah. Tons of room for upgrades. 5900 might even be overkill haha Mar 20, 2024 9:06:04 GMT -5
zila1: Thanks Jon. The nice thing is it is upgrade-able. I could put her on a 5900X later and put more ram on it and a faster graphics card later on. That's what I like so much about AM4. Mar 19, 2024 15:21:52 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: Nice! Good build. Mar 19, 2024 14:33:41 GMT -5
zila1: Oh yeah, also a real nice Havit Keyboard and Mouse combo. Mar 19, 2024 13:02:22 GMT -5
zila1: Mind you........all of this hardware was brand new in box. Mar 19, 2024 13:00:35 GMT -5
zila1: She's blown away. She's been on it all day long. I told her this is slow by today's standards but it IS all brand new stuff I had stored away. It is a very fast little rig just the same. Mar 19, 2024 12:59:29 GMT -5
zila1: Ryzen 7 2700X, Asus X470 Prime Pro, 16GB DDR4 FlareX CL14, Crucial 1TB NVME, EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2, EVGA 850W PSU, Cooler Master HAF912 with 200mm intake/exhaust and 120mm side intake/120mm rear exhaust and an Acer Predator Z301C Ultra wide Monitor. Mar 19, 2024 12:58:10 GMT -5
zila1: I just gave my sister her first newer computer in many years. Her old computer was an FX8350 rig. I took some New Old Stock I had lying around and put something together for her. Mar 19, 2024 12:51:55 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: I mean it's not over powering, just can get the hint of chlorine. It's far better than we'll water though, I'll take it!! Mar 17, 2024 17:23:54 GMT -5
zila1: That's weird. I would think that would have cleared on it's own with water usage. At least you don't have to worry about bacteria in your water. Mar 17, 2024 16:13:05 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: When they tore up Dean Street and replaced pipes, I think they over treated the water a bit. Chlorine is bleech. Mar 17, 2024 13:09:23 GMT -5
zila1: After the new parts for the water heater arrive I'm gonna flush it again. Previous owner never did. The burner area under the heater was a dirty mess. Venting nicely now. But the igniter is weak. Water heater percolates too. Some do. Some don't. Mar 17, 2024 11:01:38 GMT -5
zila1: Your water smells like bleach? Hmmm, chlorine? We don't have that odor here. Mar 17, 2024 10:53:52 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: Smells like bleach at our house. Mar 16, 2024 23:28:15 GMT -5
zila1: That smell is now gone. I also flushed out the water heater. I have a new anode rod on order as well as a new burner assembly and igniter. I hate water softeners. Mar 16, 2024 21:06:53 GMT -5
zila1: : Oh my gosh, you said a mouth full there. I hated that thing. I am starting to think that all the water problems we were having here was the water softener itself and not the hard water. The water tasted horrible. And had a smell to it. Mar 16, 2024 21:05:08 GMT -5
ShrimpBrime: We deal with the hard water. Just don't drink it. Glad you got rid of the salt bin though. Pain in the ass to deal with. Mar 16, 2024 9:30:36 GMT -5
zila1: An Electronic De-scaler is an interesting concept to me. Whether or not this thing is gonna work only time will tell. I am just so glad that water softener is gone. Mar 12, 2024 11:30:47 GMT -5
zila1: No more massive waste of water. No more having to feed that thing bags upon bags of salt. God how I hated that water softener. Mar 11, 2024 20:55:38 GMT -5
