How do you store your hardware? Neatly stacked in boxes and hidden somewhere, or open on display? I nail my mainboards to the walls with great success
It is really convenient, if you want to use them just take them off and throw em on the bench. Thanks to the ATX standard the no longer used mainboard can just take the old ones spot. I got really tired of trying to contain the growing numbers in boxes and trying to keep track of which box they end up in. Plus I really enjoy looking at hardware. The SR-2 is the only board on there that is simply for display as it is broken (I highly suspect the chipset is fried as something is leaching on standby power up the point of frying a mosfet left of the power connector). The working one is currently in use. Attachments:

put socket covers on the sockets, once fine dust gets in there it's a PITA to clean then out without damaging them. been there, done that...
I've thought of doing wall mounting dead boards, but i've only killed a few... then I saw Linus Tech Tips old office wall... he covered 1 wall with MB's and painted it white, looked really neat.

Vin Oh yeah dust is a concern if you keep them out in the open, but the flat angle plus socket covers help to prevent a mess. I replace the covers with delidded CPUs to add some shiny silicon For cleaning sockets I use compressed air to blow the dust out, worked well for me in the past. Especially with the RAM slots. I´ll have to see how my boards will look in the long term but so far they always arrive in a worse condition when I buy them, compared to them sitting in the open for a year on my shelf.

I bag and box everything. All stacked in my closet and storage space.

Same here if I put mine up on the wall the salt air would corrode the hell out of them.

Mines all boxed up unless in a mess on the bench table (usually where my video cards are lol) and I'm not so organized as I'd like to be. At least 75% of my hardware is bagged and boxed.

I should have hung all of my dead boards up like that. It never dawned on me to do that.
Edit: But with my luck...…….I'd trip and fall against the wall and rip my face off on them. ROFLMAO

Mines in a drawer thingy, because I don't really have anywhere else to put them. Okay, there's the dresser where extra boards have gone the past year or two, but eventually I plan on buying the wider Alex drawers thingy from Ikea so I have a nice place to store all of them... Since I want to steal my current narrow Alex drawers for miniatures supply stuffs...

The ones I currently use: www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/alex-drawer-unit-black-brown-40342285/The one I kind of want, although I hate how you can't get it in black or even grey anymore: www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/alex-drawer-unit-on-casters-blue-40410439/Pricing will seem a tad off because, well, they're Ikea Canada links ^And for those curious as to what some of the drawers look like in my current one.... I think I have something like four or five boards now that are elsewhere in the living room and/or bedroom, hence why I want the larger rolling chest of doom for storage. I want everything in ONE place. These are older photos (as can be somewhat obvious by the fact my Maximus V Formula is currently on my OpenBenchTable, at least for a tiny bit longer), but they still get the general idea across regarding things. ^_^ EDIT: I also have two or third video cards lying around the place too, because I've nowhere to put them in said drawer...

Wow. You have more hardware than I thought you had.

Wow. You have more hardware than I thought you had. Most of the ram is DDR2, and 2GB sticks at that, but I got them for really cheap. As for those CPUs, I can't remember if it's 3 or 4 of the trays that are pretty much full - ages ago I set the goal of owning one of every Wolfdale cpu, but haven't quite gotten there yet. I'm maybe a quarter of the way on that goal, but 2020 I suspect I'll try and fill things out there I think there's another 4 or 5 motherboards not in those photos - many wound up taking up room in the unused cubes under my turntables, because at the time that was a close area to where I was benching ^_^;;;

That's what I need. A cpu tray.... I don't have that many cpus any more, but right now they are stacked in a small box. Not organized.
I'm bad. I have to get a shovel and dig out my hardware pretty literally lol. I wrap it and box it all, but I don't label or anything. I go off my crappy memory trying to find my hardware lol. Probably takes me twice as long to set up a rig because of this.
I found one molex to PCI-E cable. I have more. Where? no clue. I just want to set up Tri-SLI damn-it. Sigh, I don't have time to orginize, but loose the time looking. haha. stupid is as stupid does I guess.

I need to get back in to it and bin, I have a load of E2200's and Celerons.. I need to pair them down and sell the extras
