Is anyone else here interested in implantable technology such as nfc/rfid, magnets, biometrics and data storage? I know this is a small community and the number of people interested in technological bodymods is also small so I am not expecting a ton of overlap but if anyone is interested in it let me know.
A diy magnet implant used to be able to feel magnetic fields. imgur.com/a/qt4nmWCIt isnt to graphic but dont click if you are made uncomfortable with small amounts of blood.

I read about wear-ables, but that's about it. body mods are out of my realm. I just giggle of the inventor of the RFID and putting one in his hand to unlock the door of his car and to start and drive it, just have had it stolen a number of times...
Vin
EDIT: is that you in the vid?

Vin EDIT: is that you in the vid? Yes it is. I currently have four implants one in right ring finger which is a magnet. One in the left had that is an NFC chip with my contact card. Ont in my left arm which is a temp sensor. I also have an rfid in my right hand that I used to get into my dorm but I may have bricked it.

you could re-program the RFID. that should be easy. I'm an industrial programmer and deal with RFID's and programming them often.
so... I guess you need a letter to get through an airport?

Vin I have never had an issue getting through the airport, there isnt enough metal in any of them to set of a detector and I could always request a pat down. The issue with the rfid chip is that the chip had a password set on it from the rfid cloner and I no longer have it. I can still get into campus computer labs with it and my dorm room but can not reprogram it. The is most likely a way to change it but I haven't had the time to look into it yet.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Seriously though, I checked out the video. Interesting subject. Not so much in having it done to myself.......but it is interesting.

Not quite at borg level yet but maybe someday. A lot of people are very understandably put off by having a foreign object under the skin.

I know the feeling, having a difibulator implant myself. Although I really don't notice it, it's there and know it won't function forever without a little maintenance done at some point, namely changing the battery when it gets close to being used up and I'm about halfway there ATM. Life cycle of a battery in one like I have is about 7 years, supposedly it's a simple procedure to change it but dread how much it's gonna cost just to do that. Was told if I start beeping, it's time. In this case it was a necessity, all the other stuff with such I'm not personally keen on. Folks can do whatever they wish but I'll pass.

DARPA has been chipping military servicemen for a while now. Since 2012 I think.
